About Best Shop Tools

Best Shop Tools is an independent review site for people who build, fix, and maintain things around the house. We help DIYers, homeowners, and pros choose power tools, outdoor power equipment, garage gear, and home improvement products that are worth the money.

Our mission

Buying a cordless drill, a pressure washer, or a portable generator should not take a weekend of reading spec sheets and forum threads. We do that research for you, narrow each category to the standouts, explain the trade-offs in plain language, and help you buy the right tool the first time.

What we cover

Power & Hand Tools: cordless drills, impact drivers, saws, sanders, air compressors, shop vacuums, and tool sets.
Outdoor Power Equipment: lawn mowers, leaf blowers, snow blowers, pressure washers, and portable generators.
Garage & Auto: jump starters, battery chargers, OBD2 scanners, and tire repair gear.
Home Improvement: dehumidifiers, heaters, security cameras, lighting, electrical supplies, and storage sheds.
Outdoor Living: grills, fire pits, and patio heaters.

Who’s behind Best Shop Tools

Best Shop Tools is run by a small, independent team of DIY enthusiasts. We are not a large media company, and we are not owned by a tool brand or a retailer. We spend our time comparing specifications, reading expert reviews, and studying what verified owners report after months of real use, so you can make a confident choice.

How we stay independent

Brands cannot pay to be featured, to earn a higher Tool Score, or to change a verdict. We do not accept payment for reviews. When the evidence changes, we update our picks.

How we make money

Best Shop Tools is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, including links to Amazon, we may earn an affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide which products we recommend or how they rank. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

How we reach our verdicts

We rely on research and evidence synthesis, not hands-on lab testing. To see exactly how we compare products and calculate the Tool Score, read How We Review. Have a question or spotted an error? Contact us.
